Windows 7 Pro running on a domain. Site Kiosk 9 configured without shell replacement. I'm using MS Word Viewer which opens documents from a network share just fine, but the user is able to click on help from the word viewer and connect to the web which creates a new browser window and surf the web unrestricted. I have added denied URLs to the surfing area of http://*support.* and https://*support.* which is the beginning address of the page it first opens but it still opens the page and allows surfing.

Please provide an example of a URL that the user is able to access even though you have blocked it via the Surfing Area rules. Normally this would be common if the actual URL is redirected. You may check the log files in the SiteKiosk configuration (Basic > Logfiles) to see exactly which URL the users are actually navigating to on he backend.

I opened configuration-basic-log files and unchecked do not log URL, changed log level to everything then saved and run once. Below is the log file:

There are no known issue with the Surfing Area allowing URLs that should be blocked:

You can for example, Go to the Kiosk machine and try to access one of the sites you mentioned before, then you want to check the logfiles after you have been able to replicate the issue. The most recent information will be at the bottom of the page.

You may also test by opening Internet Explorer on the computer and type the URL in the Address bar > Hit enter to see if the URL changes when navigating to the website.

That's what I did, and the log file I posted is after I accessed the website. It doesn't show any URL including friendly ones I have allowed.
